What you receive
By joining the Distance Parenting program, you become part of Maisha Yangu Organization's donor community network. You will receive progress reports of the grades and seasonal greetings from your supported student at the end of each school term. In addition, you will be able to communicate with your supported student through video calls, emails, letters and drawings on a regular basis, as well as physical meetups if possible. This communication is an essential part of the program, enabling you to hear from the students and create a relationship with them and their families. We put emphasis on partnering with the parents/caregivers in providing for the students to foster a sense of responsibility and involvement.
What the child receives
With your financial support of as little as 35 dollars per month depending on the package chosen, we can provide the children with school fees, school materials, a hot meal a day, and a safe, friendly place to learn and play.
Supported Students
Our students come from Kawangware and are from families living in poverty. Children supported are in grades 4 to 8, as well as students in all levels of secondary school.
Minimum Commitment
The minimum duration for the program is one school term, which spans 3 months. While one-time donations are accepted, ongoing monthly support is highly encouraged to sustain children's academic programs.
